The Paul Klipsch Story

Botch

MetaBotch Doggy Dogg Mellencamp

This was pretty interesting, thought it was worth a repost. Paul and I are both alumni of New Mexico State University (Go, uh, whatever the team is). I've personally never cared for their sound, but I know they're quite popular with many.

I guess I should be embarrassed by this, get my MS from them and don't even know the team! It's the NMSU "Aggies", and "Pistol Pete" is the mascot (appropriate...) Now to look up and post a pic of him:

Oooh, impressive, I guess.

Here are my "underground" Jubilee speakers. These are one-offs in that they were made using double-sided mahogany veneer, when the factory was using bed liner black for the pro market. You can now buy the 75th Anniversary version for the high-end home market.

I live in NM now, does that count?

I don't really care for the Klipsch sound either but obviously there are lots of people who do.

According to my friends in Texas, you have to live in a state for 30 years in order to be considered a local - well, at least in Texas.
Wait, I am starting to think this rule only applies to me. :gross:

Back in the 1980s NMSU was consistently rated in the top five EE schools in the world, even beating MIT a few times. My dad, who worked at White Sands Missile Range, spent a ton of his free time volunteering at the engineering school to make it better so he could hire EEs ready to work rather than having to spend a year getting new graduates up to speed on modern technologies and methodologies.

So, I studied English to be a rebel. NMSU is not famous for their English dept.
