Jenny & Greg were quite touched with the with the gift of your book, Jeff. Also, the sentiment you wrote to Jenny. She was thrilled.

Got my officially signed copy in the mail today - thanks! Should be a fun read.

Jo and I got our copy yesterday as well....I bounced around reading 3-4 chapters. I look forward to really diving in to the rest of the book soon. I gotta couple flights coming up this weekend where I'll probably knock out a good chunk. Once again, congrats on this accomplishment Jeff and thanks for the personal note.

Thanks again to everyone who has bought a copy. Not counting online sales, I expect to hit the 100th book sold by this Friday - when I have my third local book signing event. I've already got another shipment of 100 books on the way, with three even bigger signings coming up in the next two weeks.

New: the e-Book versions are now available! I'm going to start posting links to online sources for both hard copies and e-Books.

This is by no means a comprehensive list; but is enough that anybody should be able to find a copy online - if they don't want to order an author-signed copy direct from me. :)

I got mine today. Thank you Jeff and I am really looking forward to it.

And thank you for the kind words and looking forward to it sooner than later.

We got our copies a few days ago but I just opened the box tonight.

What's the story behind the cover art (or is that covered in the book)?

The credit is on the back cover. It's "Two Heads" by Paul Klee, 1932.

Here's the back story as to why...

The publisher I've been working with suggested it for two reasons: 1) it's in the public domain (meaning it cost nothing to use it) and 2) he initially really wanted to play up the "Naughty and Nice" aspect of the book's stories and, if you think about it just a bit, it does fit nicely.

In the end I had total say over the book (that in itself is worthy of a tale told at the next GTG) and I was uneasy about playing that up, to the point where, even though "(Naughty an Nice)" appears on the front cover, and the inside title page, it's nowhere else - not even as an official sub-title. (It was initially, but I had it changed.) I felt it was a distraction.

I like the more muted / toned down approach that is the final version.

Jeff

ps. When I was doing a signing on Monday for one of my basketball leagues, one of the guys, an artist, immediately went "Paul Klee. Nice!" And then again, he also wanted to talk about the story on page 150. :)

And where did you get those; your parcel locker?

As a matter of fact, it was. The mailman left the key to the parcel locker in my mailbox and THIS time there was something in it. A box of books to be precise.

Got mine yesterday, and of course, had to read the story on page 150. Who would've ever thunk it?

I had another local reading and signing today and it went great. Held it at a pub. A couple of people who attended are characters in one of the book's stories - so I read it, along with two other stories. During the event I was also reminded of another tale that I had told before, but which is not in the book. So I told that one off the cuff and on the fly. It was very well received.

Mesmells a sequel? :banana-dance:

Had I known ahead of time there was going to be a story about Robert Graham shirts, I would've proffered this photo I took of you wearing one.

With Most of These Stories Are Somewhat True, you will recall that I first made a firm commitment to do it on this forum and laid out a rough process / timeline for doing so. Between the time it was written and was first printed, I continued to gather, and still do gather, story ideas. I have already been thinking about a sequel and am now prepared to state the following: if I were to commit to such an undertaking, writing would not take place until 2017 at the earliest, with a goal to having it ready some time in 2018. And that's a pretty big if at this point.

I'm going to continue to collect story ideas throughout 2016 with a target of having 100 of them available before I even consider launching. (I'm at 34 right now.)

What I have already told some people, and will now share more widely, is that if it went ahead, the title of that book would be Most of These Stories Are Somewhat True Too. ;)

Like it?

The sign of a well-lived life. All my interesting life stories would fill out a 3 x 5 card. :|

I think that would make a better subtitle:

The Chronicles of Mackwood
Most Of These Stories Are Somewhat True Too

Enya bought a copy of my book yesterday evening. I was so surprised that she wanted it that when I handed it to her I forgot to sign it. Maybe the next time we meet she'll have it with her and...
