This is easily my favorite show in a long time I have streamed all the 1st and 2nd season. These guys are funny as hell but put a good message out there.

Phil Alexander Robertson (born April 24, 1946): Created the Duck Commander duck call in 1972, and incorporated the Duck Commander Company in 1973.[4] Phil has become a legend in Louisiana and in the duck-hunting world in general.[5] He played college football at Louisiana Tech University, starting ahead of Hall-of-Famer Terry Bradshaw, and was drafted by the NFL after his junior year. He turned it down and quit football because it interfered with duck season, and he was not interested in having "large, violent… men chasing me trying to stomp me in the dirt".[6] Phil is known for his dislike of modern technology (he proudly admits that he does not own a cellphone or a computer) and his concern that his grandchildren are becoming "yuppies".

That is one interesting character right there....

I saw they hype and gave it a half a day of episodes to see what it was about. It's too phony. Just a few years ago they were in khaki's and taking family portraits. There is nothing genuine about this show or the people in it

I barely made it through one episode. Worse than American Chopper.

I don't get it. Once in a hotel room as I worked on my daily inbox cleanup I watched a full episode and was shocked the show even existed. What is the show? I don't get the premise nor the entertainment value. It honestly felt like they were artificially generating conflict and story-lines to be interesting on camera. And, it wasn't that interesting.

I have grown to despise nearly all of the so-called "real-life people" documentary style shows on TV. Even stuff I thought I liked, such as American Pickers and Pawn Stars started turning my stomach after about four episodes. What first appears as a novelty turns into forced conflict and faked plots very quickly.

Who said rednecks especially rich rednecks can't wear Khaki's. Its typical of A&E reality show I don't know anything personally about this family just that it seems to have a pretty good message. I liked AC OK till it got just plain stupid the arguing between the father and son that,s when I turned it off.

But I like it and as they say to each there own.

Hey, I think it is great that anyone can find joy in a show that isn't based on death or out-of-wedlock teen pregnancy.

because I don't think they are "rednecks" ....it's marketing. Everything "redneck" they do for tv is staged. I think the only one real is the father....I read about his college football days.

Thanks for the photo's those were pretty cool. Still I'm not sure what your trying to get at is A&E programing staged? Of course but that doesn't take back the fact that underneath this all there inst some semblance of truth. Its typical A&E fare but its fun and I know they ain't stupid as they make them out to be. As far as fakes I dunno some pictures of the 50's and 60's hard to say I know you don't grow beards like those overnight. I've worked with folks from the Ozarks deep backwoods people come to the City for work looked just like everyone else but you could tell they were country or Hillbilly as we call them here. They would get tired of the City and go back home and when I worked In SW Missouri I'd always try and visit them and was always amazed at how quickly you can revert back to coot :D.

If it's staged, then it isn't truly reality tv. To be fair though, most of them feel very staged. My wife watches Teen Mom, and I have to leave the room as it pisses me off that this show is even on the air.

You mean there is a TV show that's 100% free of staging? Or, are we having a different definition of the word "staged" from one another? :confusion-scratchheadblue: To me, if there is any kind of editing (even video), then it's staged, in which case all TV shows are staged. Some more than others but no exception.

Maybe, but some of them have gotten really bad, that they don't feel much like a reality show any more. Gene Simmons Family Jewels come to mind as one that towards the end, felt really staged.
