I'd been putting off trying to drink away this week's election result until tonight. The booze wasn't helping to reset time but at least I'd probably pass out for eight straight instead of staying up all night fretting about what kinda planet my grandson will eventually live in when...

Gen told me that Leonard Cohen has died.

FUCK!

The CBC has been featuring interviews / songs etc. about Leonard Cohen all day long.

On As It Happens this evening, at 6:41pm, they were playing Suzanne. I refilled my glass of wine and noticed a stray ruby drop slowly crawling down the side of the glass. As the song played on, the image of the wine drop grew blurry, as a tear rode down my cheek.
