I'm getting ready to take the plunge on a 65" LCD and am trying to decide if the additional $ is warranted for 4K. It looks like $1,200 for 1080P and $2,200 for a 4K.
Any advice, my friends?
This is a video input and connects to the coax "Ant in" on the TV. I guess it would work just as well on the Input on a AVR.

Hello my good friend. How are you feeling these days?
I already bought the amplified leaf and like it so far. a good feature is that it is powered through the TV's USB output. This way it is off (I think) when the TV is off.
Good to see you Barn.
And so did I, based on the wise advice of the guru's here.
I went from four stations with rabbit ears, to over 30.
However, a lot of the Boston stations drift into pixels then loss of signal. I'll play with it and probably end up with the 17 or so stations that AnntenaeWeb.com thinks I should...
I missed the Kayne West out break, the dude should show a little more class.
But, the night was leaning towards race relations anyway. It's understandable, with the year we just went through.
I'm starting to favor the CMT music awards for the music and the Grammy's for the red carpet.
Another Woodstock generation fall to father time.
So sad, RIP Joe.

I picked up this three disc set at Walmart about a year go for $10. Not opened until now to space my "Freebirds" apart.
Elliot Schneider did a wonderful job with the 5.1 mix. Very impressive for a mid 70s set of songs. :banana-rock: :banana-dance: :banana-rock: :banana-dance...
Kaz:
I have this LP and just bought the CD version. I saw the SACD advertized but also did not want to spring for it.
It is a very good recording. One of my favorite covers of "Season of the Witch" is on it.
One of the things I like to do is collect cover songs.
I probably have a dozen covers of "Season of the Witch" from Donavon to Beacon Street Union.
I always thought the best was Supersession
Until I hear Supersessions, 2002 remix.
I'm also a fan of this show. The rotating groups theme provides looks at various types of musics. Jools has old time favorites like Petula Clark and Tome Jones through new artists from all over the worlld.
Eric Burdon was a good guest and Jools played the piano for him.
I've learned about...
The Dukes of September is on its way to me now.
My most recent favorite is Sully Erna The CD and the Palladion one hour show was good.
The 90 min concert tops them all.
Now that makes me want to go out this weeked and audition the 100's.
They will fit right in and they have a 93 db sensitivity vs the 90 dB on the 20's so my Yammy AVR should drive them.
ah, but what about
PSB Imagine T2
Revel Performa3 F206
Both in Framingham, MA
Road Trip !!!!!!!!
BTW:
According to the Boston dealer, The Focal 800 series is being replaced by the Aria 900 series. He sold his last pair of 826 towers.
Music Direct is discounting the 826 from $3k to 2K.
The impedance is a concern though. I would like to stick with my Yamaha 773 at 95 watts per channel.
Andy is right. I could have done this two years ago but as I said, the sound was what I already have in the 20's.
I guess I'm really looking for something different for two channel and I'm willing to add anther receiver to the mix to go back and forth between a Paradigm 5.1 and a brand X 2...
Zing:
I'm guessing you mean the 836 series? They have a dealer in Boston.
Andy:
You know, now I just might be in a position to take my time and seek out used gems.
What's the goping rate on new? 50%. I know it depends on what and where.
Audiogon, E-Bay, & Craigslist?
thanks,
Well, my tax return needs to be spent on toys this year. I've got $3K coming and that will get me into a new pair of L/R towers.
I love my five studio 20's and they are the devil I know. I just want to upgrade a bit. The 100's will make me happy. I listened to the 60's last year and felt they...
