I have what I believe is a ground loop issue caused by the cable box which is connected to the tv via hdmi. My current interface is limited to a Behringer U-Control connected to my laptop via USB. If I disconnect the hdmi cable between the cable box and tv the hum disappears with the computer...

I have used their USP-1 preamp and UPA-2 power amp for several years with no issues.

Thanks for all the input. I pulled the trigger on a pair of Dynaudio BM6AII's. I will post my impressions as soon as I think my ears have adjusted. I wish I could do a direct comparison of the Dyn's vs. the Mackies unfortunately it's not possible.

I am preparing to pull the trigger on a pair of Dyn BM6 II's. My only concern is that they have only balanced xlr inputs. I have ordered a pair of xlr to rca adapters from Parts Express. Is there any risk of hum or other issues I should be concerned about? My preamp has only unbalanced rca...

I am not sure I can take advantage of the dynamics Klipsch can offer. I live in a small studio apt and I cant play speakers even mildly loud.

They do look interesting. They seem to use drivers similar to the Legacy's I had to part with. Have you heard any of their speakers?

Another factor to consider is bass response. I live in a small studio apt. and cannot have loud deep bass. I am primarily concerned with the midrange and treble comparison between the Dyn's and Mackies. I have a SVS sub that I can't use because the neighbors don't like it.

There are multiple versions of the BM5. For example I can get a pair of the BM5A MKII's for approx $700 new on closeout. Would that be a upgrade over the Mackie 824's? Or these: http://www.proaudiostar.com/recording/m ... l#features

How much more than the Mackie's would be required? The 624's are in the $1000 range. the 824's are in the $1400 range.

Opinions sought from any one with experience and or opinions on Dynaudio vs Mackie for active speakers. Thanks.
