Spoiler alert: if you did not know it already, Robert Galbraith is a nom de plume for the author of the Harry Potter books.

"His" first book, The Cuckoo's Calling, was published over a year ago, and rose, on its own merits, on the bestseller lists. Once it was discovered who wrote it, sales shot through the roof.

The second book, The Silkworm, was just released last month. Unlike the Potter Series, I'm told that each of these novels stands alone - sharing characters etc. but not being dependent (wholly) on the previous one.

I'm about 50 pages into the first and so far would say that it fits into the adult detective genre very well. I'm already thinking that she has channeled the likes of Dashiell Hammett to some extent. If I can find the time I'd like to finish it this weekend.

I read the Cuckoo's Calling . I found it entertaining. I thought Cormoran Strike was an interesting character and one I could see recurring in future books. May have to give Silkworm a look.
