Have you ever really listened to Taylor Swift sing? She can't. She just can't sing at all. really listen sometime if you can stand it. Looks don't make a singer. A face doesn't make a body either. Ever see that picture of her in a swimsuit? scary.
I am thinking about getting a small screen for the garage, maybe 32" to 40" depending on the price. What issues may come up in that environment? During the summer the heat in the garage gets to as high as 105 and in the winter maybe down to 40. No water would be getting in, water as in leaks i...
Lets don't forget one great source for "cheaply" sampling music of CD quality. In fact it is a CD. And what is that you say? The public library. For 50 cents to one dollar you can rent CD's. They don't have every CD available but most new releases are there for use. I have checked out many...
"Can you name an audio company other than Bose?

Everyone knows Bose, in large part because it's the most heavily advertised audio brand in the world.
Then again, I can't think of any other audio brand that advertises on the...
I would have to disagree with Flint on the "large percentage" of home users that don't have a disk player to play music. I would say it is less then 10%. It may well be the wave of the future but it is not anywhere near here at this point. A blu-ray player or DVD player plays CD's or Ripped...
If it ever gets to the point where 3D looks good and you don't have to use glasses then I might be slightly interested in 3D. Until then it is just a money grab by electronics makers and movie theaters/makers. This is not the 50's and 3D still does not work 90% of the time as far as I care...
Yeah, I have been called a neat freak by some. I just like to know where things are. It does get hot in the summer and a little cold in the winter, as cold as southern California gets I guess. So I don't want anything in there that is to costly. DIYer, you must be looking at the hot water heater.
Just got a deal on a sub to close out my garage system. Sounds pretty good for a 79 dollars sub. Did learn a lesson about cheap cables though. Didn't want to spend too much so i went with a really cheap Dynex 15' sub cable. Of course after an hour of running the cable around the water heater...
Thanks for the info, pretty much what I thought. Didn't want to get anything that would be a problem. The "guy" at the store said those numbers were minimum watts to drive the speaker. Go figure huh?
I am looking at some B&W 685's. they are listed in the specs as 30-100 watts recommended power rating. I have a Receiver that is rated at 140 wpc, 128 wpc five channels driven. Would these speakers really be at risk of damage? Just wondering. http://www.bowers-wilkins.com/Speakers/ ... eatre.html
About 80% of the population thinks that an MP3 player with the "white" ipod stock ear buds sounds great. I work with people that think spending 400 dollars on a receiver is "insane" and that they all sound the same. I have a sister in law that says stereo and mono sound the same to her. Everyone...
If you are looking for high end you don't go to Best buy/Magnolia. That is where the pinheads go to buy thinking it has the "best stuff". If you aren't looking for the best or don't have the money to get the best then Magnolia will do. Kind of like thinking the Kindle Fire is a "real" tablet...
