    Need a Preamp/Amp!

Just so I understand right, the Monolith has the genius designed ;) microcontroller based power management circuit? If so, is there a reason why that was implemented for the Monolith and not ATI's amp? Or is it that the ATI is just older?

    Need a Preamp/Amp!

Yea, the Monolith is looking more and more tempting, especially since I can just order it online. I tried calling a few local audio dealers to ask about amps, pricing, etc. None of them picked up, or called me back when they said they would

    My New Dynaudio C1's

@CMonster - I happen to have The Wall album, so I took your advice and listened to the first half of the first disc. Great stuff, got goosebumps a few times!

    Surrounds Break - in period?

I don't really have a dog in this fight, since I too just like to enjoy listening to my equipment instead of worrying about any type of burn-in procedure. But I thought this was a timely thread, because I recently stumbled on the following links. (I think these articles have been up for a long...

    Need a Preamp/Amp!

Thanks for the input so far! Another option I forgot to include in my original post is the Outlaw Integrated Receiver (RR2150), which has bass management. But for some reason that product has never quite appealed to me, not sure why. I mean logically it seems like a fine product, but I kind...

    My New Dynaudio C1's

Haha thanks everyone :D Though I don't post much, I have really enjoyed reading along on these forums for several years now. And likewise I appreciate everything I've learned from the members here, so it's fun to share the excitement! Regarding song/studio recording quality, I've definitely...

    My New Dynaudio C1's

Thanks Flint! It really is interesting to hear how different many songs sound on the C1s. Different recordings sound worse, the same, or better than I was used to lol :)

    Need a Preamp/Amp!

As noted in my other thread, I recently purchased a pair of Dynaudio C1's as part of a new system I'm putting together :) I need a preamp/amp, or integrated receiver, to drive these, let me know your suggestions! Requirements: I will be running the C1's in a 2.1 configuration with a subwoofer...

    My New Dynaudio C1's

Hey everyone, I've been busy and haven't posted much, but wanted to share my excitement in getting a new pair of Dynaudio C1's in gloss black :). For a few years I was toying around with the idea of putting together a new system, and am finally in a good position to do so! I purchased these...

This guy has a better system...

I've been watching that guy's YouTube channel for a long time now, he calls it Obsessed Garage. From what I gather, he runs his own business offering financial management for clients. He's really into cars, garages, car detailing, and home theater. Recently he has started reselling car...

The new shape of home theater shops

On the same line as what everyone has mentioned, most dealers I have visited push expensive cables, speaker/amp tone matching, etc. pretty hard. However, there is one dealer in my metroplex that has frustrated me to a whole new level. He's the only dealer for certain brands in the area, and...

    Monolith

Wow that looks nice! I may look at the two-channel version of that amp in the future. Can anyone comment on how it compares to the similar ATI amps? e.g. AT1800 series or even beyond?

Home Theater Suggestions for a Friend

To answer a couple of the questions, my friend already has all the electronics he needs, so the $700 budget is for the speakers. But anyways, yea, not many of my friends are into audio, especially not nearly to the extent I am. As such, they rarely buy audio equipment, and in this situation...

Home Theater Suggestions for a Friend

Hi everyone, thanks for the replies so far. I, myself, am a big fan of high quality 2 (or 2.1) bookshelf speaker setups. But I double checked with my friend, and he is wanting 7 channel surround sound specifically. I think he will use the system 100% for movies and a few streaming shows...

Home Theater Suggestions for a Friend

Hey everyone - A friend of mine is wanting to put together a new home theater system, but he does have budget and space constraints. I've given him a few suggestions, but I wanted to see what suggestions you all had as well. What my friend is looking for: Either a 5 or 7 channel system (to...

Who's excited about The Grand Tour?

I'm a pretty big fan of Top Gear UK, so definitely looking forward to this. The trailers For Grand Tour look good too. Also, just FYI in case it's helpful for anyone, in celebration of the show's launch, Amazon is having a sale on their Prime membership for $79, only on Nov. 18.

Subwoofer Integration (Bass Mgt) for Digital Active Speakers

Generally aren't active speakers viewed favorably since the amp and speaker are designed in conjunction with each other? Or is your point more about where the electronics are located? And I agree that analog circuitry after the DAC is more likely to affect the sound, so I was curious if there...

Subwoofer Integration (Bass Mgt) for Digital Active Speakers

Hey everyone, for the past couple years I've been sort of shopping for a new pair of speakers. I'm trying to get serious about it now, and this recent Stereophile review on the Dynaudio 200 XD caught my eye...

Used Pair of Parasound Halo JC 1's - Pipe Dream?

I read up a bit on the different series of ATI amps, and also noticed that Monoprice has a series of amps called the Monolith which appear to be based on ATI designs: http://www.monoprice.com/product?c_id=109&cp_id=10919&cs_id=1091903&p_id=15595&seq=1&format=2 Are you by chance at liberty to...
