I've just upgraded the forum software to Xenforo 2.0. Please let me know if you have any problems with it. I'm still working on installing styles... coming soon.
Here is a game I found on Patriots Planet Forum, perhaps you all would like to play along and see if we can't get something going. We are into music and should be able to rock (sic) at this game.
A song is named and then the next person has to name a song that shares a word with the original...
This lady has a powerfull voice and can play a pretty mean guitar.
Usualy the obligitory "each band member has a solo spot" is hit or miss.
They nail it with "Hampmotized:.
Well, as I set this up I've learned two things.
With my Cox cable older Motorola DTR the HDMI to DVI cable did not work.
After going back to component, I could not get any HD channels. :angry-cussingblack:
So, I called Cox and they are sending someone out Friday to check it out.
After...
So, the 708 showed up and guess what?
The FM tuner works. So does the cable audio in.
I'm going to drag down the SVS 25-31 PC+ down and soon I'll be 2.1.
Me likey so far!
Thanks -B-
Did I ever tell the story of when I polyurethane coated a set of stacking tables? I kept getting bubbles in the finish and had to sand and repeat. After seven coats I go to the paint store and start to complain.
Paint store guy:
Did you shake the can?
Me:
Yup
Paint store guy...
I appreciate the offer, Bat. I just picked up a region free Pioneer AV 610 universal player to replace the dead 578 (which just came back to life).
I also have a 563 in my back pocket. For when the 578 does give up the ghost.
I will now have two compete surround systems. But only one sub...
Shhhhhh, DIY.
I don't want heeman to know I'm copying his every move. :angry-tappingfoot:
btw: The stands cost $160 for all four. And I was very pleased to open up the Mopad package and see that there four, not two. So it's $40 for a pair of speakers.
Amazon, here comes my visa again. Four...
Heh, Heh .....
When I staged the pics I just had to put the Village People Album up. I knew this crowd would have fun with it.
I'll probably go with a gloss enamel in black. While I'm at it I want to rip a 2" board to distribute the weight of the center speak to the sides of the TV. The other...
Well I'm driving home from MA with three more Speaks, bemoaning the fact that I have to wait another month for the stands.
So, I stop buy my local unfinished furniture store and what do I see.
They are called "cubes". They are 14" wide x 11" deep and they had them in both 28 and 42" tall.
So...
"If the HDMI/DVI cable doesn't work, then that could be an excuse to get a new TV! A 50" 720p plasma can be had for easily under a grand.
Yesfan"
"If this is the case, a new display is in order.
Rope"
You guys are rediculous. There is no new display in my future. (Unless the $5 DVI thingy...
My Mits manual is pretty explicit in that it is a 1080i device and the program source must convert from 720P. Besides, no ESPN?, No Fox?
What do you think I'm going to do with this system? Oh, yeah - listen to the radio. :banana-dance:
Update: clicked the button last night and according to...
Yes, you still can use the receivers front panel.
It was a close call between the Yammy 667 and the Onkyo. Although the Yammy does send the on screen display via component, the killer was that it does not convert 720P to 1080i, which my Mits TV needs.
I would have prefered a simple adapter so...
Amazon droped their price to $550 also.
One concerning item is that according to the manual, the on screen menu is carried only through HDMI and not component video connections.
My Mits WS – 48413 has component and DVI inputs, no HDMI.
Does anyone know if an HDMI to DVI converter would send...
I'm an old school guy....
Phono input, 5.1 analog inputs for SACD/DVD-A
I would lke to be able to feel comfortable going Blue Ray and 1080P in the future. lots of HDMI stuff.
It seems like Analog inputs are going away so this seems like the best choice for the present.
thoughts?
my finger...
Hi Pauly:
I live for WEEI in Boston to get my Red Sox/Celtics/Patriots/Bruins news.
When I saw that they were on HD Radio, I wanted this model.
My bad on this one, I guess. :angry-banghead:
Well this might be easier than I thought.
I log in to Amazon and on the last day to do it, I file for a return. It was accepted and I Already have the pre-paid UPS tracking number,
We shall see how this goes.
My next post - AV receiver recommendations!
You know, after hanging around you guys for the last ten years, I consider myself a semi-informed AV consumer. So before buying the RX-V1065 I headed over to AVS forums and did a search. The impression I receved was that this 2009/2010 model was OK at the MSRP of $1K, but a bargin at less than...
